University of Rochester’s Life Sciences Learning Center has developed a collection of case-based, hands-on, NGSS aligned lessons for students to increase understanding of One Health concepts.  One Health emphasizes the connection between human health, the health of animals and the health of the environment.

We are seeking grade 9-12* teachers who are willing to field test one of the lessons with their students.

*We will also consider honors/accelerated 8th grade classes.

Field test teachers will be asked to:

  • Use the lesson with their students
  • Administer an online post-test to their students
  • Complete a lesson evaluation survey and provide written feedback on the lesson
  • Provide samples of student work for the lesson

Field test teachers will be provided with free supplies needed to complete one lesson with their students. Field testing will take place between March 1 and May 15.

A stipend of $150 will be provided for teachers who complete the field testing.   All field testing data must be returned no later than May 15.

Here is the field testing application:

Note: The application has descriptions of the lessons

The application deadline is February 8.  Field test teachers will be selected by February 10.  Lesson materials will be shipped to field test teachers by March 1.
