Modeling Workshops This Summer

This summer, more than 50 Modeling workshops will be offered in about 20 states for junior and senior high school teachers and college instructors. Workshops are offered in physics, physical science, E&M, light and waves, chemistry, biology and earth science. Some locations offer stipends.

Participants are introduced to the Modeling method as a systematic approach to the design of curriculum and instruction. The name Modeling Instruction expresses an emphasis on making and using conceptual models of physical, chemical, and biological phenomena as central to learning and doing science. Mathematical instruction is integrated seamlessly throughout each course by an emphasis on mathematical modeling.
