Kentucky earth science teachers!
Greetings! We are pleased to announce a summer workshop exploring earthquakes and earth structure in the central U.S. The workshop, developed in collaboration with Illinois State University, Purdue University, and the University of Illinois, will focus on the NSF EarthScope experiment and its implications for understanding dynamic processes in the North American continent.
The workshop will include a one-week classroom program at the campus of Illinois State University (2 graduate credits) and an optional one-week field trip to the New Madrid seismic zone (1 graduate credit). The course is open to teachers from Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, and Missouri. Participants will be provided housing and a generous honorarium to cover all costs during the workshop. Details are available on the attached flyer and at the workshop website: http://lilt.ilstu.edu/rsnelso/
Please consider applying to the workshop and help us pass the word on to others who you think might be interested in taking part.
