NASA continues to blend Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) using education resources related to current and future missions. This is an opportunity to discover the learning potential in trying new approaches to the seemingly difficult or impossible as we "Educate to Innovate". The summer workshops provided by NASA Aerospace Education Services Project and SESC will explore engineering design challenges, problem-based learning activities, distance-learning modules, inquiry-based lessons, literacy across the curriculum, and hands-on projects while targeting the next generation standards of learning.
Target audience: Educators: Grades 6-12.
Each participant will experience 8 breakout sessions with hands-on activities over the two day training and sign up for free 1.5 hour virtual follow-up with one of NASA’s Aerospace Education Specialists. They will also have an opportunity to join the NASA Educator Online Network (NEON) Professional Development Community to continue receiving resources and collaborate with other STEM Teachers and STEM Professionals.
